Our Lea County Hero:

Weston Jewell

Weston joined the United States Navy in 2020, graduating from Lovington High School the same year and stepping straight into service during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He trained as an air traffic controller, working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where he played a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations. Despite the unique challenges of the era, Weston excelled—strengthening his discipline, leadership, and dedication to the mission. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida, where he continues his education and training, now pursuing a path in the medical field to expand his ability to serve others both in and out of uniform.
